Monterrey Airport
Monterrey Airport services the second largest regional business centre in Mexico. The airport’s redevelopment project gave opportunity to create an internal ceiling feature for a subterranean walkway. The design needed to fulfil functional illumination requirements, but also provided a large format for storytelling.
A theme and narrative was developed and interpreted on illuminated ceiling panels, expressing the activities of the airport and its environs through a representation of flight paths and arrival and departure times of aircraft traffic over a 24 hour period.
