Da Wu Gang Park
It’s not often that the opportunity comes along to develop a concept that would totally change the landscape of a city. In a twenty-one hectare zone designated for the new business incubator, a graphically driven plan evolved, in collaboration with Walter Brooke Architects, to construct a series of buildings sharing the same roofing material that mimicked an enlarged version of an existing hilltop at the parkland’s centre.
This was the first of four precincts to be developed. The others to follow included a financial district, an internet plus zone and the redevelopment of the historical ceramic factory area. The four zones for development were individualised with symbols based on the four painted star commonly understood in China to represent ‘internet plus’.
