The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (est 1578) is a public, autonomous and decentralised Mexican higher education institution headquartered in Puebla, the state’s capital of the same name. The university constitutes a great pillar of higher education and scientific research in the region and occupies a prominent place among the country’s public universities.

The rejuvenated brandmark incorporated Minerva, the Phoenix, the fire emerging from the clouds, the shield as a support for the Phoenix Bird rising from the fire, and the traditional university ribbons.
